Why Sub-Contract your wiring looms?
Most companies today manufacturing equipment or vehicles containing a large number of electrical wires or cables realise that to be competitive they have to create a wiring loom as a separate sub-assembly rather than assemble it wire by wire on the product. Many firms still chose to do this work in house but increasingly they choose to sub-contract it to a specialist company like Assembly Solutions. We have the expertise and equipment to make the looms efficiently and to a consistently high standard providing you with a plug and play solution. This gives customers the benefit of fixing the cost of a significant part of their product and vastly reducing the final assembly times.
Design and Specification
Not all customers have the time or expertise to produce CAD drawings for their looms. Assembly Solutions can help with design advice and if necessary produce the entire assembly drawing and bill of materials. We also produce a detailed wire list, which fully describes each wire, and how it is crimped and connected. Before production starts a detailed pattern is produced on CAD for a pin board, this enables the job to be scaled up for multiple pin boards and to be archived and accurately reproduced several months or years later.
Quality Control
Every aspect of the loom production is documented and controlled to simplify assembly and inspection. All looms are 100% electrical and visually inspected before delivery to the customer. For new work we submit a first off to the customer for approval before continuing with the rest of the batch. As you would expect from a company producing complex vehicle looms containing several hundred wires and many different crimps and connectors, the work has to be right first time and every time.
